Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of First Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. First Baptist members are involved in a variety of ministries. There is a place for everyone to serve!
Adult Ministry Opportunities
At First Baptist, we have many opportunities for worship and ministry for adults! We’d love to have you join us!
Sunday School
We have classes for all ages! Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Call our church office for information on specific classes!
At FBC, Sunday School is…
- A time of studying God’s Word together in small groups.
- A time of fellowship when friends come together.
- A time of prayer – especially for those who may have special requests at this time in their lives.
- A time of support and encouragement to other class members.
- A great way to develop close relationships with other believers.
Prayer Meeting
We have prayer meeting each Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary. It is a time where we lift up specific spiritual and physical needs.
Mission Outreach
First Baptist is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in and supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. Our church has partnered with a Baptist pastor and his church from Mexico. Each year, a small group from our church travels to Mexico to assist in practical projects and evangelistic outreach.
Music
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. We have choir for our preschoolers, children, youth, adults, and Sr. Adults. The Adult Choir meets every Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and the preschool and children’s choirs meet every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. The Youth Choir rehearses at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons.
Ushers
The usher team at First Baptist fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men whose ministry is integral to church life.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of First BaptistChurch. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also broadcast our Sunday morning worship services live on local cable television.
Children’s Church and Nursery
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, First Baptist holds a children’s church in conjunction with the main service for four and five year olds. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. We also have a wonderful nursery during Sunday School, morning and evening worship, as well as Wednesday evenings.
